Dental hygienist (Part-Time) job at Matsushino DDS

Patient Care and Assessment: Warmly greet patients, update medical/dental histories, and perform comprehensive oral health assessments, including periodontal charting and oral cancer screenings.

Clinical Procedures: Deliver thorough dental cleanings (prophylaxis), scaling and root planing, and selective polishing using hand and ultrasonic instruments.

Preventive Treatments: Apply preventive materials such as fluoride treatments and dental sealants to protect teeth and support long-term health.

Radiography: Accurately acquire and develop high-quality digital dental X-rays, adhering to all patient safety and radiation protection standards.

Patient Education: Educate and motivate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques (brushing, flossing, home care) and the link between diet and oral health.

Documentation and Workflow: Accurately document all care, treatment, and observations in patient records, and collaborate on medical scheduling and workflow management.

Safety and Sterilization: Strictly implement infection prevention management and disinfection procedures, ensuring a clean, sterile workspace in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards.

Structure: This is a professional position with a focus on specific days.

Availability: Seeking coverage on Thursdays and/or Tuesdays.

Hours: The shift runs from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM on workdays (includes a one-hour lunch break).

Ideal Schedule: Every Thursday and the first two Tuesdays of each month is preferred, but we can be flexible and accommodating for the right candidate.

Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of California.

Certification: Current CPR Certification (Basic Life Support).

Clinical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in all core hygiene functions, including patient assessment, scaling, root planing, and preventive treatments.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computer dental software and operating digital imaging equipment.

Safety & Compliance: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and OSHA safety standards.

Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic and reassuring manner for patient comfort.

Aptitude: High level of attention to detail, manual dexterity, and effective problem-solving abilities.

Experience with specific dental or medical software used for charting and scheduling.

Experience in a family or general dental clinic experience.

Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
