Responsibilities
Conduct thorough dental cleanings and assessments to maintain optimal oral health for patients.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow in the dental office.
Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during all procedures.
Perform medical imaging as required, including X-rays, and ensure accurate documentation of findings.
Review patient documentation to ensure all necessary information is collected and maintained according to HIPAA regulations.
Work with pediatric patients, providing specialized care tailored to their needs.
Collaborate with the dental team to develop treatment plans and improve patient outcomes.
Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Requirements
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Experience in a dental office setting is preferred, with skills in dental assisting being a plus.
Proficiency in aseptic technique and medical terminology related to dentistry.
Familiarity with medical imaging systems and documentation review processes.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate patients effectively.
