Dental hygienist (Full-Time) job at Whites Creek Dental

Responsible for performing licensed hygiene procedures, educating
patients and management of Periodontal Therapy.
- Provide home care instructions to each patient.
- Keep instruments sharpened (curettes prior to SRP).
- Sterilize hygiene instruments and operative instruments.
- Set up and break down rooms.
- Disinfect room and equipment after each patient.
- Use digital/intraoral camera to educate patients.
- Follow Doctor’s recommendation for patient's treatment plan.
- Take, and label x-rays and IOC photos
- Cross train in other areas of office.
- Maintain hygiene equipment – suction lines & traps, cavitron,
microscope.
- Keep abreast of HIPAA & follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain licensure and attend continuing education courses annually.
- Enter existing and pending treatment plan into each chart.
- Present treatment plan with financial estimates
- Be sure treatment room is ready, stocked and disinfected before a
patient is brought into the room.
- Review and update patient health history, dental history and dental
charting at each visit.
- Collect preliminary data prior to Doctor’s initial exam which would
include necessary x-rays, full mouth charting-including complete
periodontal charting, and oral cancer screening.
- Educate patients as to the condition of their oral health, their options for
treatment, what to expect with/without treatment – guiding them to an
informed decision.
- Perform prophylaxis.
- Administer fluoride treatments.
- Review financial arrangement before procedure.
- Render periodontal therapy (scaling, root planing, incidental curettage,
sub gingival irrigation and developing personalized homecare program
for periodontal patients).
- Apply dental sealants.
- Maintain inventory and ensure oral hygiene supplies are ordered timely
- Complete chart preps daily.
- Accurately chart all procedures performed including date, services,
necessary clinical notes (i.e. prognosis, treatment options etc.),
procedures and time needed for next visit and your initials.
- Administer local anesthetic

Work hours: Alternating Mondays and Fridays: 7-3
Tuesday and Wednesday: 10-6
Thursday: 7-3
