Infection Control: Sterilizing dental instruments and preparing treatment rooms according to safety protocols.
Diagnostic Support: Taking and developing dental X-rays (requires certification in many states) and making impressions of teeth for casts or models.
Patient Education: Instructing patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and providing post-operative care instructions.
Interpersonal Skills: Essential for calming anxious patients and working effectively as part of a dental team.
Attention to Detail: Critical for following exact sterilization protocols and maintaining accurate patient records.
Assisting with extractions and dental implants in a sterile surgical environment.
