Dental assistant (Part-Time) job at LDJ Family Dentistry

Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and dental procedures, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
Prepare, sterilize, and organize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays, utilizing advanced imaging technologies, including 3D scanners when applicable.
Accurately record patient medical histories, vital signs, and documentation related to dental treatments.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions.
Support pediatric dentistry procedures with a gentle and compassionate approach toward young patients.
Assist with appointment scheduling and front desk duties, including reception tasks, as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of clinical and common areas to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Paid Sick Time

Monday – Friday: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Weekend availability as needed

Familiarity with infection control practices and dental assisting protocols.
Proficient in taking vital signs and performing accurate medical documentation.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Spanish language skills highly desirable to support our diverse patient community.

1-2 years of dental assisting experience preferred; entry-level candidates with relevant training are encouraged to apply.
Experience or comfort working with pediatric patients is a plus.
Skilled in dental X-ray procedures; experience with 3D scanning equipment is advantageous but not required.
Certification or formal training in dental assisting preferred but not mandatory.
