UW Medical Center-Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a Nurse Manager to lead our brand-new Neuromodulation Clinic, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) . These units are part of UW Medicine's Center for Behavioral Health and Learning - a first-of-its-kind, comprehensive facility designed to transform the way we approach mental health care.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 40 hours per week

  • Manage a newly-opened clinic and an established service line at UW Medicine
  • Support an innovative, state-of-the-art program in a developing field
  • Lead a team of Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Social Workers DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONS The Garvey Institute Center for Neuromodulation opened in April 2024 and provides outpatient, evidence-based Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) services for adult patients with major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, catatonia, and schizophrenia. Clinical staff will regularly work with patients under anesthesia and will provide support before, during, and after the ECT and TMS procedures.Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provide ongoing therapy services to patients transitioning out of inpatient behavioral healthcare. IOP and PHP patients typically live at home, but meet multiple times each week for individual counseling, behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, and case management services. ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND LEARNING The new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning , which opened on the UW Medical Center – Northwest campus in 2024, offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care and to improve mental health care training in our state. Located in North Seattle, the new facility features 75 longer-term adult psychiatry beds, 25 geriatric psychiatry beds, 50 medical/surgical beds focused on patients with psychiatric comorbidities, and a state-of-the-art neuromodulation program. It also houses an interdisciplinary training and workforce development program focused on preparing and supporting the next generation of behavioral health providers for Washington State.   • Manages all day-to-day and operational functions of our brand-new Neuromodulation Clinic and our established IOP/PHP
  • Oversees approximately 13 staff, including Social Workers, Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and an Operations Supervisor
  • Collaborates directly with the Behavioral Health Assistant Administrator regarding access, referrals, volume development, department flow, and productivity
  • Ensures evidence-based practice is integrated into department operations
  • Ensures adherence to Compliance Program policies, procedures, and standards of conduct
  • Ensures that documentation meets current standards and policies and is completed for each visit by clinical staff
  • Ensures that the department meets regulatory healthcare standards
  • Assumes the role of patient advocate regarding guidelines found in the Patient Bill of Rights
  • Models customer service standards for staff and practitioners
  • Interviews and hires new staff
  • Completes regular performance evaluations for each staff member
  • Counsels employees, develops staff, and utilizes the disciplinary process when appropriate
  • Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational goals and objectives REQUIREMENTS
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or actively working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • 4 years of nursing management experience
  • Demonstrated skillsets in project management
