Serenity Knolls is a 42-bed co-ed facility with 6 detox beds serving ages 18 and over. We are a 12 step based, social model residential treatment center that uniquely combines the traditional social model of care with contemporary cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic and evidence based practice.

COMPENSATION:

Compensation for roles at SERENITY KNOLLS varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, SERENITY KNOLLS provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.

Hourly Pay Range of $21 - $23 per hour DOE

Full and Part Time Openings Available Day and Evening - must be available a minimum of one weekend day per week

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
  • Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment.
  • Responsible for conducting safety checks and ensuring that supervision is conducted at 30 minute intervals, as noted in special precautions, or in accordance with individualized supervision guidelines as needed.
  • Assist in answering phone and directing calls or assisting callers, in a professional manner.
  • Alert clinical staff to client difficulties or concerns.
  • Provides therapeutic listening and guidance with clients as required.
  • Maintains appropriate verbal response with client population.
  • Exhibits initiative in doing job duties without needing constant prompting by supervisors.
  • Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, significant others and staff.
  • Transport patients for admissions, appointments and discharges.
  • Pick up or transports visitors or staff as needed.
  • Drive company facility vehicle to pick-up supplies or equipment, as needed.
  • Scheduling flexibility, including holidays, is required, as all team members participate in providing 24/7 care.
  • Positions require the ability to multi-task and to work as part of a team in complex treatment environment.
  • Working knowledge of 12-step programs.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months or more experience working with chemical dependency treatment and recovery is preferred.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must be registered with an DHCS approved certification agency (CCAPP, CADTP, etc.) or be working toward certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
