Description	Echo Ultrasound Technologist Job Details Job Location Washington Co Hospital - Washington, IA Position Type Per Diem Education Level 4 Year Degree Travel Percentage None Job Shift Day Job Category Health Care Description SUMMARY The Echo/Ultrasound Technologist shall perform echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, general, abdominal/OB-Gyn, and vascular. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to be successful. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following) Perform high quality echocardiograms and stress echos and general ultrasound including abdomen and OB/GYN and vascular studies in accordance with all policies and procedures. Competently set up and assist radiologist and pathologist during procedures. Working with the EMR’s to generate and complete exam orders. Perform, record, and analyze QC data in order to make judgments concerning the results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision. Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies. Qualifications EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Graduate from an accredited school of ultrasound RDCS registered, preferred or obtain after hire RVT registrations, preferred or obtain after hire RDMS(AB,OB-GYN) , preferred or obtain after hire BLS required, or obtain within 6 months of hire SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to maintain safe and effective patient care Strong written and verbal communications skills with prevalent professional demeanor Ability to use active listening skills to interpret the needs of the patient. Ability to mentor, train, motivate, direct and empower team Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation Ability to work independently Flexibility in schedule. Willing to adjust hours, as needed. Willing to cover other shifts Highly motivated Ability to work in fast paced, rapidly changing, and regulated environment. Able to triage situations to complete tasks Effective time management Analytical skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner Exhibit sound and accurate judgement Team player/professional attitude Demonstrates ability to learn and apply new approaches Maintain professional technical knowledge
