Robert Half is seeking a bilingual individual fluent in Spanish and English to support a respected healthcare organization in Portland as a Patient Access Representative. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring effective communication and support for our Spanish-speaking patients throughout their healthcare journey. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet and assist patients and visitors in both Spanish and English
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately and efficiently
  • Schedule appointments and procedures while accommodating language preferences and provider availability
  • Verify insurance coverage, obtain necessary authorizations, and assist with insurance-related inquiries
  • Explain financial responsibilities to patients and assist with financial arrangements as needed, addressing language barriers sensitively
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Collaborate effectively with clinical staff and other departments to ensure seamless patient experiences
  • Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork, providing language assistance as required

Requirements

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal) is essential
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical records
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration, customer service, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively in both languages
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to customer service, with a commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity
