Prepares medications for in-office procedures, performs bandage/dressing changes, suture removal, brace fitting, cast application, and removal under the specific and direct supervision of the practicing Medical Provider. Also, performs clerical and receptionist duties as assigned. Maintains a working relationship with registration, business office, other clinical office staff, and Providers. Duties Include: * Process and prepare the patient for assessment and treatment, by the medical provider, in a timely manner * Clean, maintain and care for instruments, equipment, and all work areas Prepare and send approved prescriptions, under the direction of the medical provider, to pharmacies or patients * Accurately prepare injections, under the direction of the medical provider * This position requires clinical orthopedic knowledge and terminology * Reviewing medical histories, current allergies, and medications, obtaining vital signs, wound care to include suture/stable removal, knowledge of sterile technique along with OSHA and HIPAA standards * Employee must show competency in applying various DME, casts and splints * Assist patients on the phone as needed when the physician is not present * Telephone counseling of patients under the direct supervision of the medical provider * Schedule follow up appointments, prepare orders for labs and various other diagnostic studies * Accurately document all care/education provided to the patient
