problems in a timely manner * Knowledge of medical terminology and
orthopedic procedures Summary: Under the supervision of the Clinical
Supervisor and Medical Assistant Lead the Medical Assistant works with
the practicing Medical Provider assisting in the daily patient care
duties of assessment, treatment, and patient education in the clinic
setting. Prepares medications for in-office procedures, performs
bandage/dressing changes, suture removal, brace fitting, cast
application, and removal under the specific and direct supervision of
the practicing Medical Provider. Also, performs clerical and
receptionist duties as assigned. Maintains a working relationship with
registration, business office, other clinical office staff, and
Providers. Duties Include: * Process and prepare the patient for
assessment and treatment, by the medical provider, in a timely manner *
Clean, maintain and care for instruments, equipment, and all work areas
  • Prepare and send approved prescriptions, under the direction of the

medical provider, to pharmacies or patients * Accurately prepare
injections, under the direction of the medical provider * This position
requires clinical orthopedic knowledge and terminology * Reviewing
medical histories, current allergies, and medications, obtaining vital
signs, wound care to include suture/stable removal, knowledge of sterile
technique along with OSHA and HIPAA standards * Employee must show
competency in applying various DME, casts and splints * Assist patients
on the phone as needed when the physician is not present * Telephone
counseling of patients under the direct supervision of the medical
provider * Schedule follow up appointments, prepare orders for labs and
various other diagnostic studies * Accurately document all
care/education provided to the patient
