Job Requirements: U.S. Citizenship Education: Certificate or diploma from an accredited community college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency, accredited by either NLNAC or CCNE. Licensure: A current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse. Experience: At least 1 year of practical or vocational nursing experience after graduation. BLS Certification: Must be current through the American Heart Association. Key Duties: Deliver patient care based on individualized needs, selecting the appropriate procedures and treatments, and accurately recognizing and documenting patient conditions. Administer prescribed medications, including oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous, according to established policies. Respond to urgent or emergent situations, initiating emergency interventions with the support of the RN or MD/DO. Assist in complex diagnostic tests or procedures, preparing patients and specialized equipment, and monitoring patient conditions before, during, and after procedures. Provide education to patients and their families on health conditions and post-care instructions to promote recovery and wellness. Support the orientation and training of peers and ancillary staff on unit policies, procedures, and best practices.
