Key Responsibilities
* Preventative Care: Perform thorough dental cleanings (prophylaxis), root planing, and scaling.
* Patient Assessment: Conduct initial screenings, review medical histories, and perform oral cancer screenings.
* Radiography: Take high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photos to assist the Dentist in diagnosis.
* Education: Empower patients with personalized oral hygiene instructions (brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
* Clinical Support: Apply sealants and fluoride treatments; assist the Dentist during complex procedures when necessary.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed patient records and treatment plans in our practice management software.
Qualifications & Skills
* Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
* Licensure: Current state license to practice dental hygiene and CPR certification.
* Technical Savvy: Experience with digital X-rays and dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
* Soft Skills: A gentle touch and a friendly, professional bedside manner to help alleviate patient anxiety.
* Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for changes in oral health and meticulous record-keeping habits.
