（Part-time） Hygienist job at Palo Alto Dental Studio

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. The hygienist will provide preventive dental care, perform professional cleanings, and educate patients on oral health. The role includes evaluating patients for early signs of dental disease and applying minimally invasive treatments such as Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus for early-stage cavities. Our focus is on prevention, patient comfort, and high-quality care.

Schedule

Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Lunch Break: 1-hour unpaid lunch, typically at 12:00 PM, occasionally 1:00 PM depending on the schedule.

Patient Flow

Hygienists typically see 8–9 patients per day.

Appointments include a mix of new patient exams and recare (recall) hygiene visits.

Key Responsibilities

Perform dental cleanings including scaling, polishing, and plaque removal

Conduct oral health assessments and review patient medical histories

Take dental X-rays as needed

Screen patients for signs of gum disease, cavities, and oral cancer

Identify early enamel lesions or incipient caries

Apply preventive and remineralization treatments including Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus when indicated

Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants

Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care

Document patient care and maintain accurate clinical records

Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols

Collaborate with the dentist and dental team to ensure high-quality patient care

Provide a comfortable and positive patient experience

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene

Active state Dental Hygienist license

CPR/BLS certification

Experience or training in minimally invasive caries management (Curodont experience preferred but not required)

Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and radiography
