Responsibilities

Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options.
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols.
Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate patient information and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Maintain sterile environments through aseptic techniques and proper infection control procedures.
Use dental software systems such as Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft for charting, documentation review, and medical coding.
Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, ensuring excellent patient care and safety standards are met.

Expected hours: 8 – 32 per week

Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.

Proven experience in general dentistry setting preferred.
Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, including Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft.
Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy, and dental assisting practices.
Ability to perform patient assessment skills such as vital signs measurement and medical history review accurately.
Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively on oral health practices.
