Responsibilities

Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct oral health assessments, including vital signs and medical history review
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring patient safety and comfort
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Review medical records and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination
Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures
Support general dentistry treatments and pediatric dentistry needs as required
Ensure compliance with all dental terminology standards and medical coding practices

Monday to Friday

Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures
Experience with pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-specific patient care approaches
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality
Ability to review documentation accurately and perform medical coding when necessary
Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation review processes
Effective communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with team members
