Overview
The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support the overall health and well-being of our patients. This role offers an opportunity to work in a modern clinical environment utilizing advanced dental technology and EMR systems. The Registered Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with dentists and dental assistants to deliver comprehensive oral health services, ensuring compliance with all health regulations including HIPAA and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) as needed, ensuring proper aseptic technique
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures and provide chairside assisting during various treatments
Follow infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards
Support general dentistry procedures and collaborate with the dental team for optimal patient outcomes
Requirements

Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist
Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within general or pediatric dentistry environments
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR systems is highly desirable
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures
Ability to perform vital signs measurement and basic medical assessments in pediatric or adult patients
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations including pediatrics
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations concerning medical records and patient confidentiality
Effective communication skills to educate patients about oral health and treatment options

- Work Hours: Monday, Wednesday,: 8 AM - 4:30PM;; Tuesday and Thursday: 8AM - 6:30PM, Friday: 8 AM - 3 PM.
- Breaks: 30-60-minute meal break (not counted as work hours).
- Weekend Work: No weekend shifts required.
