Duties

Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review.
Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures and provide age-appropriate patient education.
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using appropriate aseptic techniques.
Document patient findings accurately in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans.
Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures, ensuring proper infection control and sterilization protocols are followed.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical records and dental charts.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards.
Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and current best practices in general dentistry.

Expected hours: 32 – 40.0 per week

Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations.

Proven experience with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and pediatrics is preferred.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical coding, documentation review, and EMR systems.
Experience with chairside assisting and dental assisting techniques is highly desirable.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and compassion.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and documentation.
