Duties

Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth using aseptic techniques
Take and record vital signs and medical history assessments for patients
Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including medical imaging and documentation review
Provide chairside assisting during various dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Conduct patient assessment to identify oral health issues and recommend appropriate treatments
Follow infection control protocols to ensure a sterile environment
Support pediatric dentistry procedures, demonstrating knowledge of pediatric dental terminology and anatomy
Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning, documentation review, and medical coding as needed

Expected hours: 24.0 – 32.0 per week

Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations
Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics preferred
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR systems is a plus
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques
Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse patient populations, including pediatrics
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality
