A Dental Hygienist plays a key role in helping patients maintain good oral health through preventive care, education, and clinical services. Typical duties include:

Patient Care & Assessment

Greet and prepare patients for dental hygiene treatment

Review and update medical and dental histories

Assess oral health conditions by examining the teeth, gums, and related tissues

Record and chart conditions of decay, periodontal disease, or other oral health concerns

Clinical Procedures

Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing

Apply preventive materials such as fluoride and sealants

Take, process, and evaluate dental radiographs (X-rays)

Conduct oral cancer screenings and periodontal evaluations

Assist the dentist during examinations or specialized procedures when needed

Patient Education

Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and oral hygiene techniques

Provide information about the relationship between oral health and overall health

Counsel patients on diet, tobacco use, and other lifestyle factors affecting oral health

Infection Control & Record Keeping

Follow strict infection control and sterilization protocols

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and treatment notes

Ensure operatory and instruments are properly cleaned, disinfected, and prepared for each patient

Team Collaboration

Work closely with dentists and dental assistants to ensure high-quality patient care

Communicate patient needs, concerns, and treatment recommendations effectively

Contribute to a positive, professional, and efficient team environment

Employment Type: Part-Time (26–28 hours per week)

Schedule:

Mondays & Tuesdays: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Wednesdays: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Thursdays: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Weekends and holidays off!
