（Full-time） Dental hygienist job at About Smiles Dental

Provide preventive dental hygiene services including prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance.
Perform non‑surgical periodontal therapy (scaling and root planing, SRPs) per clinician directives.
Take and develop intraoral and extraoral radiographs following state regulations and safety protocols.
Complete comprehensive dental and periodontal charting and document treatment accurately in the patient record.
Verify and update medical and dental histories at each appointment; assess for risk factors and contraindications.
Record treatment plans and progress notes clearly and promptly.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene techniques, caries prevention, periodontal disease management, and home care instructions.
Maintain infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and compliance with OSHA and HIPAA requirements.
Assist with recall scheduling, patient flow, and coordination with dentists and clinical staff to ensure efficient, patient‑centered care.
Maintain supply levels and equipment functionality; report issues to office management.
Participate in team meetings, training, and continuing education as requested.

Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
Current registration and active dental hygienist license to practice in North Dakota (ND).
Ability to work the required schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Strong clinical skills in prophylaxis, periodontal charting, and SRPs.
Competency in taking dental radiographs and knowledge of radiographic safety standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to educate and motivate patients.
Basic computer skills and ability to document accurately in electronic dental records.
Authorization to work in the United States.

Prior experience in a general or periodontal dental practice (new graduates are welcome).
Familiarity with common practice management and dental charting software.
CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Experience with digital radiography and intraoral cameras.
Interest in continuing education and professional development.
