（Part-time） Dental hygienist job at David Cornell DDS

Conduct comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including reviewing and updating medical histories and taking patient vital signs.
Perform thorough dental cleanings (scaling, root planing, polishing) and apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides.
Capture and interpret dental radiographs, including panoramic, bitewing, periapical, and occlusal x-rays.
Document treatments and patient interactions electronically using Eaglesoft or Dentrix software.
Assist with pediatric procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure patient comfort.
Provide chairside support to dentists during exams and treatments as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, diet, and preventive care to support long-term dental health.
Comply with all infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality and safety.
Participate in ongoing professional development and office meetings to stay current on advancements in dental hygiene.

Current and valid Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license for New York State.
Familiarity with dental imaging (panoramic, bitewing, periapical, occlusal x-rays) and radiographic techniques (including bisecting angle and paralleling radiography).
Experience maintaining accurate and thorough electronic documentation using dental software (Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred).
Sound knowledge of oral anatomy, dental terminology, and infection control protocols.
Ability to provide chairside assistance and support a variety of procedures.
Excellent communication and patient education skills.
Team player mentality and commitment to outstanding patient care.
Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Latham, NY 12110 prior to start date.

Previous experience in an active dental office or clinic setting.
Experience or interest in pediatric dentistry and four-handed dentistry.
Less than one year of dental hygienist or patient care experience is welcome—recent grads are encouraged to apply.
Any prior training in documentation review, medical coding related to dental procedures, and customer service is a plus.
