Blacksburg Smiles is seeking a Part-Time hygienist to work Tuesday - Thursday for our fast-paced and rapidly growing dental office. Our team has created a culture and commitment to creating an experience for patients that exceeds their expectations.

We offer laser treatment to our patients along with several other adjunctive therapies. We offer a competitive salary based on experience as well as mentorship and training for new graduates. Newbies are welcome to apply!! We schedule hour-long appointments, and longer appointments are available for Scaling and Root planing treatment.

Title	Dental hygienist
Description	Attributes: Must actively participate in “90 days to health” by striving to keep our patients focused on optimal treatment while attending to their individual concerns. Must be a team player! Ready to roll up your sleeves and get it done! Must possess leadership skills that motivate and energize the team and patients. Must work hand in hand with doctors and support staff to set and accomplish goals. Responsibilities: Obtain and review dental history and/or records from patients. Ensure that the health history is updated for all returning patients. Perform full mouth perio charting and periodontal exams as indicated. Remove deposits, plaque, and stains from teeth by scaling and root planing. Select and use appropriate preventative and restorative treatments such as fluoride and scaling and root planing therapy. Assist in the prevention and control of dental caries (decay) and gum disease. Educate patients regarding the importance of oral hygiene, as well as instruction and demonstration of effective oral hygiene methods Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices)

Requirements	Licensed dental hygienist Valid and current Registered Dental Hygienist license following applicable state licensure requirements
