Responsibilities

Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery.
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
Take dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft; document treatment details and medical/dental history thoroughly.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical documentation while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by adhering to infection control standards and sterilization procedures.

Requirements

Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.

Proven experience with dental assisting in general dentistry or specialty practices
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation.
Familiarity with X-ray techniques, medical imaging equipment, including 3D scanners
Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and OSHA standards to ensure patient and staff safety.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques while maintaining excellent patient rapport.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient privacy at all times.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to pediatric patients and their families.
