（Full-time） Dental assistant job at DENTAL CENTER OF ATHERTON

Assist the dentist efficiently during a variety of dental procedures.
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with strict infection control protocols.
Take and accurately record patient vital signs and medical history.
Perform dental x-rays and process them for diagnosis.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic patient records using dental software.
Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality by strictly adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Prepare temporary crowns and other lab work as needed.
Provide exceptional chairside assistance, anticipating the dentist's needs.
Administer local anesthetic under direct supervision, as allowed by state regulations.

Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Occasional Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (by appointment only, typically 1-2 Saturdays per month).

Minimum of two (2) years of prior experience as a Dental Assistant.
Proficiency in taking dental x-rays.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced environment.
Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a cohesive team, consistently going above and beyond to support colleagues and patients.
Comfortable and proficient in all aspects of general dentistry, including assisting with restorative, endodontic, and prosthetic procedures.

Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification.
Proficiency in using dental practice management software (e.g., Curve).
Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology.
Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures (CDT codes).
Experience making temporary crowns.
