（Part-time） Dental assistant job at Point Loma Dental Group

Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain treatment areas in compliance with infection control and aseptic standards.
Take and manage dental radiographs (X-rays) and related imaging tasks.
Accurately record and update patient medical records in adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Prepare instruments and materials chairside to support smooth procedure flow.
Monitor patient vital signs and provide chairside support as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions.
Support front-desk duties including appointment scheduling and managing dental documentation.

Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role within a dental practice.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental disciplines including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
Proficient in medical coding and handling medical documentation.
Strong understanding of infection control protocols.
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Certification or training in dental X-ray technology.

Experience or training in pediatric dentistry.
Additional certifications related to dental assisting.
