（Full-time） Dental assistant job position at Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics

Assist dentists chairside with various dental procedures.
Take dental x-rays and impressions if licensed.
Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness according to SBNC protocols.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and nutrition.
Document patient treatment accurately in electronic dental records.
Manage inventory and prepare clinical areas before and after appointments.
Verify patient eligibility and update contact information.
Support laboratory tasks such as pouring and trimming dental models.
Maintain compliance with infection control and workplace safety standards.
Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.

Monday to Friday: 8:15 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Sunday: Closed

High school diploma or equivalent.
California Dental Board-approved courses in Dental Practice Act and infection control (to be completed within one year of employment).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved provider.
X-ray certification required.
At least six months of related dental assisting experience or equivalent education and experience.
Proficiency in maintaining patient confidentiality and record keeping.
Ability to learn and use SBNC’s electronic dental records system.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Commitment to patient safety and infection prevention.

Ability to speak Spanish.
Experience with insurance verification and referral coordination.
