（Full-time） Dental assistant job at Smile by Design

Assist the Dentist during various examinations and procedures (including crowns, fillings, cleanings, and x-rays) using two- and four-handed dentistry techniques.

Perform essential chairside duties, including the fabrication of temporary crowns and taking impressions.

Prepare and maintain the treatment area, managing tray setups, room turnover, and ensuring all units are functional.

Execute strict sterilization and disinfection procedures in compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols.

Manage patient records and documentation, ensuring HIPAA compliance and accuracy in charting and medical documentation.

Actively support smooth patient flow, from welcoming and seating patients to providing post-treatment care instructions.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and follow-up care.

Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure all equipment is properly maintained.

Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m.−5:00 p.m.

Minimum of one (1) year of prior Dental Assisting experience in a clinical setting.

Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging patient interaction.

Proficiency in dental terminology and basic clinical procedures.

Knowledge and implementation of HIPAA and OSHA safety standards (including sterilization and infection control).

Comfortable operating medical imaging equipment (x-ray machine). Note: X-ray certification is required (or ability to obtain promptly upon hire).

Certification in dental assisting or a related field.

Familiarity with OpenDental software.

In-depth knowledge of dental anatomy.

Experience with dental care patient counseling and health education.
