Patient Preparation and Comfort

Greet young patients and their families with warmth to help reduce anxiety.
Prepare children for dental procedures using child-friendly explanations.
Comfort and reassure children during visits, using calming techniques and positive distractions.
Assisting the Dentist

Provide chairside assistance by passing instruments, adjusting lights, and maintaining a dry field.
Prepare, clean, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment.
Take dental X-rays ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Assist with fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and impressions.
Sterilization and Infection Control

Follow strict sterilization protocols to ensure patient safety.
Maintain a clean, hygienic environment in treatment and common areas.
Administrative Support

Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating patient visits.
Help maintain and update patient records with accurate information.
Patient Education and Behavioral Management

Educate children and parents on proper oral hygiene and preventive care.
Use child-friendly language and techniques to manage dental anxiety and encourage cooperation.
Emergency and Safety Support

Assist in emergency dental situations, providing first aid and CPR when necessary.
Ensure all safety protocols are observed during procedures.
Equipment and Inventory Management

Monitor and maintain adequate dental supplies and materials.
Help troubleshoot basic equipment issues to ensure smooth operations.
Team Collaboration & Positive Environment

Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and office staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
Foster a positive, empathetic, and patient-centered atmosphere for children and families.

Monday-Thursday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Friday 7:30 am – 1:00 pm, and Saturday 7:30 am – 1:00 pm.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and/or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification required.
Coronal Polishing Certificate required.
CPR Certification required.
Exceptional communication skills with a caring, patient demeanor toward children.

Previous pediatric dental assisting experience preferred but not mandatory.
