（Part-time） Periodontal Dental Assistant job position at Barry P Levin, DMD PC Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry

Assist the periodontist during periodontal procedures, including scaling and root planing, periodontal surgeries, and implant placements.

Prepare patients for treatments by reviewing medical histories and explaining procedures.

Sterilize, organize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards.

Take digital X-rays and assist with diagnostic imaging for treatment planning.

Provide post-operative care instructions to patients and assist in monitoring their recovery.

Assist with managing patient records, including updating charts and documenting procedures.

Ensure a safe and clean environment in the treatment areas and sterilization rooms.

Educate patients on periodontal health and assist with preventive care instructions.

Manage and monitor the inventory of periodontal supplies and reorder when necessary.

Maintain strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

As a Periodontal Dental Assistant, you will work directly with our periodontists to provide outstanding care during periodontal procedures. You will assist with patient management, instrument handling, sterilization protocols, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Your role will ensure smooth and efficient operations while making patients feel comfortable and well-informed throughout their treatment.

Knowledge of periodontal treatments, procedures, and dental terminology.

Ability to take and process X-rays in accordance with state laws.

Excellent communication skills, with a compassionate and professional approach to patient care.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment.

Basic life support (BLS) or CPR certification required.

Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA, RDA) preferred.

Previous experience as a periodontal dental assistant is highly desirable.

Knowledge of Dentrix dental software is a plus.
