Job Title: Dental Assistant

Position Summary: The Dental Assistant is a key member of our dental clinic, providing essential support to dentists and enhancing the efficiency and quality of care provided to our patients. This role involves a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, including assisting the dentist during treatment procedures, managing dental records, and ensuring the comfort of our patients throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including preparing and maintaining dental instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Manage patient appointments and records, ensuring accurate documentation and confidentiality.
Take dental radiographs (x-rays) and impressions of patients' teeth when necessary.
Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
Help with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
Offer patients comfort and support during dental procedures.
Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, ordering supplies, and managing billing and payment.
Ensure that the dental room is cleaned and stocked properly for each patient.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; higher education or certification in Dental Assisting is preferred.
Certification or associate degree in an accredited dental assisting program.
Dental X-ray certification.
Proven experience as a dental assistant.
Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures.
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
Good computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications.
Strong communication and people skills.

Monday- Thursday 8am-5pm

Experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred

Cerec experience is desired, but not required.
