DESCRIPTION

About the Position

We are seeking an Addiction Medicine Nurse Practitioner with the ability to prescribe medication assisted treatment medications, including buprenorphine and methadone, to join our team to fulfill its mission of advancing recovery to those suffering from Opioid Use Disorder. We provide care on an outpatient basis to those diagnosed with Opioid Use Disorder. We operate an integrated care delivery clinic with provision of medication assisted treatment, behavioral health services, case management and peer services. We provide these services in-person or virtually in order to bring the most comprehensive level of care to the patients that we serve.

About the Division

The Lane County Medication Assisted Treatment Program uses a holistic model of treatment that embraces traditional abstinence-based recovery as well as harm reduction principles. We have a small, but dedicated team who provides medication assisted treatment services to help program participants reduce and ultimately end the use of heroin and other opioid drugs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Training:

  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university, and completion of a Nurse Practitioner program specific to the expanded specialty role/category for which application is made.

The scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner is incorporated into nine different specialty categories which include: Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP); Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM); College Health Nurse Practitioner (CHNP); Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP); Geriatric Nurse Practitioner (GNP); Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP); Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP); Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP); and Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHCNP).

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Licensing Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted medical license as a Nurse Practitioner at time of appointment.
  • Must possess a current certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Oregon, in the specified specialty role/category.

Special Requirements:

  • Certificate granting full prescription authority.
  • CPR/BLS.
  • Current DEA licensure and prescriptive authority in Oregon.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Ability to work virtually and with diverse care teams
  • Preferred board certification in Addiction medicine or related field
  • Computer literate and experience with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Effective time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships with network and community physicians, and other providers.
